'The New Crafts' International Invitation Exhibition & Symposium

Since 2015, 'The New Crafts' - International Exhibition & Symposium has been continuously organised by the Academy of Arts & Design of Tsinghua University in Beijing.
This exhibition is dedicated to the innovation and heritage of traditional crafts, respecting the diversity of international art and showcasing the characteristics of contemporary international art that values crafts.
Over the decade, 'The New Crafts' has been successfully held in various cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangladesh and Changchun, exhibiting outstanding works from dozens of countries, 42 international and 56 domestic art institutions.

At the exhibition, Barbara Mydlak presented ‘Sent unsent letters’ objects - part of ‘A healing Illusion’, on which she is collaborating with French artist and composer Yann Deval.
During the symposium, Barbara Mydlak gave a keynote speech about 'The Fibrous Matter - Its Performative and Interactive Side'.
